Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the film is inspired by the classic fairy tale The Wizard of Oz and features the witches Avba and Glinda. The two of them started out as friends from the same school, but eventually went on different paths, with Glinda going on to become the Good Witch of the North in The Wizard of Oz and Afba becoming the so-called "Bad Witch of the West".
